The Learning Makes a Difference Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2007 by Jackie Gingrich Cushman and Kathy Gingrich Lubbers.

Jackie Cushman, President
Committed to creating programs that help people live their best lives, Jackie is a syndicated columnist for Creators Syndicate and a public speaker represented by WorldWide Speakers Group. Her book, “5 Principle for a Successful Life: from Our Family to Yours” co-authored with Newt Gingrich was inspired by Learn, Earn and Achieve. Jackie serves on the Georgia Advisory Council for the Trust for Public Land, the board of Genesis and is very involved with the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
Kathy Lubbers, Vice President
Kathy is the President and CEO of Gingrich Communications, responsible for the visibility, celebrity, marketing, and messaging of former Speaker Newt Gingrich; and Celebrity Leaders, a talent and literary agency. She also serves on the Board of the Arthritis Foundation and Forstchen, Gingrich, Hanser, LLC.
Ramsay Battin, Treasurer
With more than 15 years in finance and entrepreneurialism, Ramsay is an Atlanta Director of Venture Capital at Arcapita, a leading international investment bank. Ramsay is an active volunteer with the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta. He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. Ramsay currently serves on the Board of Directors of Prenova and Fidelis SeniorCare.
Jason Godwin, Secretary
Jason Godwin is an attorney at Taylor, Busch Slipakoff & Schuh here in Atlanta. His practice focuses mainly on business and commercial litigation. Other areas of experience include labor and employment and real estate law.
Stuart Sheldon, Board Member
A partner in the experiential and word-of-mouth marketing agency Escalate, Stuart has 20 years of marketing experience at not-for profits, “below the line” marketing services agencies, and the global marketer Coca-Cola. In addition to LMDF, Stuart serves on the executive committee of the board of directors for the Word-Of-Mouth Marketing Association, both the Church Council and Sports & Recreation mission committee of Northside United Methodist Church and key roles within both the Southeast Zone of USA Water Polo and the Georgia State High School Water Polo Association.
Maureen Kelly, Board Member
Maureen is a results-oriented marketing executive with over 15 years’ experience on both the corporate and agency side. Able to conceptualize and implement strategic marketing/ promotional programs that drive business results, she deftly brings brands to life for key B2C and B2B audiences. In recent years, she has aggressively built the ING business by developing a strategy to extend the ING brand campaign into experiences that deepened target audiences’ connections to ING.
