The Learning Makes a Difference Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2007 by Jackie Gingrich Cushman and Kathy Gingrich Lubbers.

LMD Foundation Leadership

Jackie Cushman, President, LMD Foundation Board of Directors

Committed to creating programs which promote social capital, Jackie is also a writer who publishes a weekly column for The Northside Neighbor and www.townhall.com. Jackie serves on the Georgia Advisory Council for the Trust for Public Land, the board of Genesis and is very involved with the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

Kathy Lubbers, Vice President, LMD Foundation Board of Directors

Kathy is the President of the Gingrich Communications and Lubbers Agency, a talent and literary agency. She also serves on the Board of the Arthritis Foundation and Forstchen, Gingrich, Hanser, LLC.

Ramsay Battin, Treasurer, LMD Foundation Board of Directors

With more than 15 years in finance and entrepreneurialism, Ramsay is an Atlanta Director of Venture Capital at Arcapita, a leading international investment bank. Ramsay is an active volunteer with the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta. He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. Ramsay currently serves on the Board of Directors of Prenova and Fidelis SeniorCare.

Kirsten Boehner, LMD Foundation Board of Directors

Kirsten received her PhD in Communications from Cornell University with a focus in Human Computer Interaction. She has created and evaluated interactive software and computer programs for museums and has published academic articles on creative learning spaces. Kirsten’s background also includes extensive experience in working with Fortune 500 companies designing and leading workshops on strategy innovation processes. She is currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship and writing a book.

Jason Godwin, Secretary, LMD Foundation Board of Directors

Jason Godwin is an attorney at Taylor, Busch Slipakoff & Duma here in Atlanta. His practice focuses mainly on business and commercial litigation. Other areas of experience include labor and employment and real estate law.

Erika Montag, Learning Makes a Difference Foundation, Board of Directors

Erika practiced corporate law for 11 years working primarily with Fortune 100 companies on mergers, acquisitions, and negotiating and reviewing contracts. After having her third child, she stopped practicing law and is now a full time community volunteer. She spends much of her volunteer time working with the Atlanta Speech School.
